"The Blizzless Project" has launched hacked versions of Starcraft: Remastered, Warcraft III: Reforged Diablo II: Resurrected that do not require a connection to Battle.net.

The group from Russia says it wants to detach classic games from the servers of the company and Battle.net

The team's goal is to develop alternative servers to be able to use the purchased products without restrictions, without collecting personal data with telemetry, and to continue to be able to use the products after support ends.

"We plan to post parts of the source code when we're done so that the community can explore and use it," the forum post says.

The group lists a number of complaints to justify the hack:

  • Forced removal and modification of game clients without the user's knowledge

  • Your accounts may be banned if changes are made

  • Events around the world have revealed that access to products is easily drawn based on nationality and where you live

  • The company's slogan "Every voice counts" is now nothing more than a rudiment

  • Any creativity for company projects now belongs to the company, not you

  • Skin color, your origin, and your wealth – this is what now has weight and priority. The company does not hide this by publishing tools to assess the “norm
