Soon, Opera's popular free service will end

Downloading VPN, but offering an option.

Opera has bad news for users of the browser's free VPN service. 30 April the service will be closed.

This is the date when Opera VPN will no longer be available on Android and iOS mobile apps. Instead, users are encouraged to try the SurfEasy VPN service that Opera VPN is based on.

SurfEasy is probably not free but offers 80 percent off an annual subscription for Opera's free users. Individuals with Opera Gold can use SurfEasy Ultra for free for one year.

The closure of the VPN service comes ironically at one point there is a lot of talk and desire for more online privacy after the fresh Facebook scandal. The service is also not the first Opera scooter in a short period of time. In August last year, the company dropped Opera Max. Here was Samsung that took over the relay pin.
