Microsoft introduced a brand new user interface in Windows 8, first called "Metro." They later had to die after the German company Metro Group AG denied Microsoft using the name. SkyDrive suffered the same fate after a lawsuit from the British TV giant Sky.
Must change name
Again, it is the name trick for one of the products for Microsoft. Last year, the Windows giant bought up the Beam streaming service. Yesterday the company revealed that the service changed name to Mixer.
Microsoft announced yesterday a massive update to the service, which now appears to be a real competitor to Twitch, and then it also emerged that Mixer is the new name. On Twitter, the boss of Mixer explains that they could not use the Beam name globally and therefore had to switch.
Multi-stream and mobile app
Amongst yesterday's news, multi-flow is a very exciting feature from Mixer. Up to four players can collect in one video stream and players do not have to play the same game or on the same device. Another news is the Mixer Create app, where users can stream live from their mobile. That's a Facebook Live competitor.
