The University of New Haven in Connecticut points to update KB5033375 (from December 12) to Windows 10 and Windows 11 as the big WiFi culprit on the eve of the year.
The WiFi is not working
The problem? The machines cannot connect to WiFi. “A recent Windows update released on 12/12/2023 has caused users to be unable to connect to the wireless networks. The update is known as KB5033375. Click here to learn how to uninstall this update to be able to connect to ChargerWiFi on your Windows computer,” the note to students said.
It is probably mainly universities with slightly different login platforms than consumers that are affected, but it is not only this university in Connecticut that is affected. The University of Brunel London reports the same: delete the update so that you can connect to our network. A solution should also be to disable 802.11r, a protocol that should initially ensure a seamless transition between network points.
