The dream of a password-free everyday life is here for those with 1Password beta now that the program also supports pass key.
Finally, it is possible
“Ready to go truly passwordless? Starting today, anyone can join our public beta and create a new 1Password personal account using a password key,” reveals the company that has long promised us this future. They made it just in time before 2024.
This means that you do not need the master password for 1Password, nor do you have to look for the long key that you have hidden somewhere so secret that you have forgotten it yourself.
So the question is, what happens if you lose all the devices you have with a 1Password passkey? If you only have a couple of devices and lose both, the service has added the option to create a backup code.
This is done by logging into your account at 1Password.com, clicking your name in the top right, and selecting “Authentication.”
If you want to test passwordless login to the program, you must download the beta version for your OS.
