What on earth has happened

There are reports of severe cases of screen burn-in with the iPhone 15 Pro.

We have not seen this on older OLED iPhones

Since the launch, Apple has had to release an iOS update to fix an overheating problem, but according to the company this applied to all models that can run iOS 17, and not just the new 15 and 15 Pro models. Perhaps the 15 Pro models felt extra warm due to the titanium frame.

A Redditor reports a completely herpa iPhone 15 Pro Max screen: “I had heard that some customers were experiencing screen burn-in issues on their phone, but I didn't really notice anything on mine until a couple of nights ago when I started seeing a small amount of what looked like "ghosting." Upon further inspection, the screen is definitely burned in. Putting a dark gray image up with low brightness reveals it beyond any doubt.”

Probably not many customers are affected

Another customer reports the same error, and that the problem is not very widespread: "I have seen around five reports in total. But there is definitely a real problem with the 15 Pro Max that the previous generations haven't had.” We think that person is right.

There is always something every time a new and popular consumer product is launched with so many new customers. This fall's iPhone launch doesn't stand out, but only the overheating problem seemed to hit on a large scale. There are customers who experienced that the iPhone 15 Pro was delivered without color, that the color was not evenly distributed and also that the screen was not correctly positioned in relation to the frame.
