Ridicules Apple and the iPhone

Google continues its campaign against the iPhone.

Apple and Google should work together on a common messaging standard

It's all about the fact that Apple still sends SMS messages to all devices other than the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, while Android has support for the RCS messaging platform ("Rich Communication Services") which is more modern, has support for high-resolution images, etc.

We have written about Google RCS since November 2019, followed up last August when Google ran another PR campaign against Apple and last August when Tim Cook thought you could "solve" the problem of " buying an iPhone for mom". “

They control RCS, and Apple is not involved

SMS lacks encryption and is not exactly perfect for group messages. The standard is out of date, but so is the fact that RCS is out of Apple's control - it's not hard to see, especially for a company like Apple that wants to control everything, that they don't want to jump on a standard supported by their arch-rival. MacRumors writes that the protocol was designed by Google. That's right, and Samsung later jumped in with support, but it is now the "GSM Association" that is officially responsible for the protocol.

With reliable global infrastructure and seamless consistency, Google's RCS technology helps the mobile community deliver better messages everywhere.

Apple must at least be invited to the club

It also took Apple a very long time to adopt USB C on iPhones, but now that they have finally taken the leap, the advantages are many, including connection to an external screen so that you can use the mobile as a console.

Whatever one may think of the matter, Google's video below is one of the funnier parodies of Apple product presentations we've seen, but we doubt Tim Cook will change his mind. Perhaps if the two came together on a standard instead or if Apple joined the club Google illustrates in the picture above?
