ChatGPT For Google is a genuine Chrome extension, but beware of fakes.

Copied name and code
It is the people behind Guardio, which itself offers a security extension for the browser, who have discovered that there are also dangerous and fake extensions out there that take advantage of the popularity of ChatGPT.

 

The name of the fake extension with the exact same name was later removed by Google, but not in time. It's no wonder that people took to the glue stick: those who created the fake version copied the interface and the code - not difficult since it's open source.

This is the plan of attack.

Steals Facebook login

Because unfortunately, over 9,000 users installed the extension since March 14, before Google managed to weed it out.

 

The dangerous thing about this is that it steals Facebook cookies. With such information, the masterminds can take over Facebook accounts which in turn are used to spread chaos and even ISIS propaganda with the help of bots.
