There are again bigger problems with a Windows 11 update, we are to believe users on Reddit.

Now Windows 11 makes the PC slower
We are talking about an update Tuesday from Microsoft this month which fell on the second Tuesday of the month, i.e.

 

14 March. It is on this day that Microsoft pushed out a number of updates, not to mention the “Moment 2” update that was launched on March 1. Also, KB5023706 should have enabled the rollout of Moment 2 for everyone.

 

Anyway, it's supposed to be the March 14th update, KB5023706 (for 22H2 which is the Moment 2 update), which is causing bigger SSD performance issues for those with the updates installed.

 

Interestingly, this is not the first time Windows 11 has had problems with disk speeds. Last October it was reported that copying files were much slower.

 

This points in the direction that it is the update

One user complains about very much slower NVMe speeds: we're talking 7000MB/s to 3000MB/s and in some cases as little as 1000MB/s with energy savings on the Legion 5 2021 laptop.

 

So what makes us think it's Microsoft's update? When the update was deleted, the good speeds returned - plain and simple. It's worth a test if you experience the same.

 

A number of users commented on the post and replied that their performance has also degraded after installing the update.

 

Not only is the disk performance weaker, but there should also be problems with the general performance, something users experience with lag. Longer start-up times should also be a problem.
