This is how Intel's first video card performs

Intel has (in part) launched its first video card for desktops in the form of the Arc A380, which can only be traded in China.

Intel has entered the arena
We were aware that the first cards would be launched there first, but it is disappointing as the performance seems to be very good for the price, better than what the competitors can offer in the 1080p segment with cheaper cards (for around 1500 kroner).

Performance should be better than AMD RX 6400 which costs 1600 kroner (all prices converted from USD due to unknown Norwegian price on Intel cards - Radeon RX 6400 costs over 2000 kroner in Norway) even with only 4GB RAM, two 2GB less than Intel.

The Xe engine supports up to 4 x 4K 120Hz HDR monitors, up to 2 x 8K 60Hz monitors, or a 360Hz monitor in 1080p or 1440p resolutions.

Here are the specifications of the Arc A380:

GPU

  • Rating: 8

  • Render Slices: 2

  • Ray Tracing Units: 8

  • Intel Xe Matrix Extensions (Intel XMX) Engines: 128

  • Xe Vector Engines: 128

  • Graphics basic clock speed: 2000 MHz

  • TDP: 75 W

RAM

  • RAM: 6 GB - GDDR6

  • Memory interface: 96 bit

  • Memory bandwidth: 192 GB/s

  • RAM speed: 16 Gbps

These are not the toughest games to go around, but Intel boasts more value for money
Intel promises more than 60 FPS in a number of popular games and with 1080p.

Games that provide more than 60 FPS with this resolution and a medium level of detail are listed by Intel:

  • Naraka Bladepoint

  • PUBG

  • World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

  • Apex Legends

  • Fortnite

  • Overwatch

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

  • League of Legends

  • NiZhan, Dota 2

Intel has confirmed that there will be machines with the cards from Acer, ASUS, Gigabyte, GUNNIR, HP and MSI.
