Google is in the process of testing a new feature for Google Maps. Soon you will be able to access incognito mode in the map service.

This means that you can keep both your search and navigation history private.

Admittedly, you can use maps in incognito mode in the browser of your PC, but something similar has so far not been available on your mobile phone.

How to enable incognito (for beta testers)
The new feature can easily be activated by tapping the profile picture in the app and selecting "Turn on incognito".

Google Maps incognito is currently rolling out to beta testers. When it becomes available to the public is unknown, but it probably won't be long.
