The key to expand
During a conference, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that deployment of servers with underwater technology is the way the company thinks ahead with regard to the expansion of different regions for data centers. They have also made an even bigger attempt since the California experiment, this time off the coast in Scotland.
Lower latency
One of the biggest advantages Nadella points out is that the servers being laid down near the coasts will make wonders for the networking time for most, as more than half of the world's population lives less than 200 kilometers away from a coast.
Shorter production time
The other advantage pointed out is that it will take much less time to work out data centers in this way, as you do not have to create the center itself. According to Nadella, the server underwater under the Scottish coast took 90 days to complete. That the process can go so much faster on the underwater method means that Microsoft can operate very quickly if a new capacity needs a specific location.
