Monitoring all traffic
According to Kaspersky, the malware, known as ZooPark, can steal passwords, images, videos, screenshots, and data from apps like WhatsApp and Telegram. The company reports that ZooPark attacks the Middle East and that it is probably a state player behind.
The damage issue has become more and more advanced over time and was initially limited to "only" stealing account details and the contact list of the devices it attacked. In addition to retrieving the above information, ZooPark can now also monitor keylogger, clipping data and browser history that includes search history, images, and video, as well as call logs.
At the moment, the spread of the injury seems to be limited, which may indicate that it is targeted at current persons.
