Intel confirms that an update that seals the CPU hole causes trouble for more users. Microsoft has previously warned that people with Intel CPU from 2015 or older get poor performance.
Confirms trouble
"We have received reports from a few customers that the system restarts more often than before after firmware updates," Intel writes in a press release on its websites.
The company writes that it works closely with the affected customers to determine, diagnose and resolve the restart problem.
"We are also working directly with data center customers to discuss the issue," the company reports
The problem seems to hit Broadwell and Haswell processors, and applies to both client and data centers, Intel reports. At the same time, the processor manufacturer encourages end users to install updates recommended by PC and operating system manufacturers.
