According to reports, the app, known as Colorful Balloons, is perceived as the Facebook's Moments app launched for a while.
Moments is an app where users can share pictures and the like with friends and family.
Colorful Balloons works completely independent of Facebook and is instead integrated with WeChat, the largest social media in China. The app was launched through the local company Youge Internet Company.

In a statement to The Verge, Facebook says that the company has spent time learning more about the country and their focus now is to help Chinese companies and developers reach markets outside the country using their advertising platform.
