In December 2015, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), an ideal digital rights organization, filed a federal complaint against Google claiming that the search giant collected personal information for children in primary school, the information includes online history.

- Gather more information than necessary
EFF has published a new status report that shows that Google, according to the organization, is still working to "harm the privacy of minors".

The organization believes that this often happens without the parents giving consent or aware of the tracking that is being done, and usually this happens without a proper opportunity to opt-out.

Recent studies conducted by EFF show that "education technology often collects much more information about children than necessary and that this information is stored indefinitely".

Without Parents' consent
"This privacy statement goes past Personal Identity Information (PII) as the name and date of birth, and may include online history, search terms, location data, contact lists, and behavioral information», writes the rights organization and adds:

"Some programs automatically upload student data to the cloud and by default. All of this often happens without the parents' knowledge and consent about their students and their families. "

Google has not commented so far on the updated report.

The entire report can be read here.
