We were hoping Apple would do that, but it's a big disappointment

Some of you may remember our test of the iPad mini 6.

Fixes annoying screen issues, but doesn't increase from 60Hz

Our title was simply “ The Screen Destroys.” Not only does it not have 120Hz, which we are used to from Apple with non-Pro products, but the big problem was "jelly scrolling", i.e. that the image lags behind. This is a known problem with IPS LCD screens, but we think it was particularly bad on Apple's latest mini, which otherwise has a great upgraded design.

Now "Instant Digital" reports on Weibo that Apple will soon launch an iPad mini 7 that corrects this problem, but that 120Hz is unfortunately just forgettable. In addition, it gets an upgraded selfie camera and the A16 chip that Apple uses in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.

Probably coming in October as previously rumoured

In fact, the mini is supposed to be launched this month flanked by the iPad Air 6 which is upgraded to an M2 chip.

Few improvements are otherwise expected as it is expected that Apple will give the iPad Pro models a new design next year, or in 2025. The more affordable models will probably follow. Another somewhat smaller, but equally important improvement for those who can never find the adapter, is that the Apple Pencil 1 is introduced with USB C.

The iPad mini 6 destroys itself with a far too weak panel and a battery life that is just okay. Plus for a leaked design, Apple Pencil 2 and USB C.
