A month and a half after the launch of the cracking good Resident Evil 4, the pirates have managed to crack the anti-piracy system.

And it is not exactly a small obstacle that the "crackers" have had to overcome, and the reason why it took somewhat longer than usual. This is because Capcom uses four different ways to stop the pirates, including the company's own Anti-Tamper. In addition, we find VMProtect, Denuvo SecureDLCv2, and Denuvo v18.

 

It is possible that Capcom will remove one or more blocks now that the pirates have managed to sneak around. They have done that before by deleting Denuvo from Devil May Cry V and Resident Evil Village.

 

Either way a success

The developers are probably aware that blockers will be tricked sooner or later, but stopping piracy on launch day is probably important, without us having any specific numbers. Capcom managed to sell three million copies of RE 4 in just two days and four million in early April.

 

We awarded RE 4 9.3 out of 10 and concluded that: "Resident Evil 4 is a fantastic remake of the 2005 classic that has been improved from head to toe, apart from the great balance and playability of the original."
