Advertising-Netflix loses content

Netflix has lost almost 1 million customers internationally, the company revealed in its quarterly report for the second quarter of 2022.

Losing viewers, increasing revenues
The company also revealed that they will not launch the advertising financing plan until early next year, after first saying this was to be launched late this year.

Now there is even more information about the advertising model, and that's not good news.

Because even though Netflix has increased revenues because they have adjusted prices, the advertising subscription will not offer as large as the more expensive subscription plans.

We will have to renegotiate everything
The reason is that the company has agreements with the manufacturers not to serve the content with advertising, simple and easy. Therefore, Netflix will have to renegotiate the contracts both in the US and internationally, in order to put as much content as possible.

The Wall Street Journal has already revealed that Netflix is in contract negotiations with Warner Bros. (You), Universal (Russian Doll), and Sony Pictures Television (Cobra Kai).

The service will also have to negotiate again in order to serve advertising customers hit series such as Breaking Bad.

Netflix co-boss and "Chief Content Officer" Ted Sarandos stated during the quarterly report the following about the content:

“Most of the content that the vast majority views Netflix is included in the ad model. It is some of the content that does not come along, but we are in talks with the studios about this. If we launched the product today, customers in the ad class would have a great experience. We want to remove some extra content, but certainly not everything. We don't think it will be a problem for the business. ”
