Broadcom has traded VMware for a staggering $ 61 billion, around $ 580 billion.

The third Giga acquisition in a short time
The company's acquisition of the cloud and virtualization company is one of the largest ever, just in the shadow of Dell's $ 67 billion deal with EMC and Microsoft's planned activation of Activision Blizzard for a whopping $ 68.7 billion.

 

VMWare has experienced poor turnover figures recently, so the acquisition will help them, at least in the short term.
