CNBC reveals Apple that they are not going to reveal sales figures for the iPhone 7 (here are the prices - here are the new iPad prices) this weekend.
- Being sold out
For pre-orders starting night for tomorrow. Traditionally, Apple boasted sales figures opening weekend, but not this time.
The company explains why, pointing out that mobile phones will be sold (italic text is highlighted by us):
"We expect the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is incredibly popular - we are thrilled to be able to accept preorders on September 9. Customers will receive their new iPhones as of 16 September.
Previously we announced how many new iPhones that have been sold from the first weekend after launch, but now that we have expanded our distribution through operators and retailers to hundreds of locations around the world, we are now at a point where we know before the first customer preorder, we will go blank for iPhone 7.
The first sales controlled by the supplies, and not demand. We have therefore decided that it is no longer a representative metric for our investors and customers. "
