Windows 11 ISO was leaked this week. It has tempted dexterous people to take a look at the changes and appearance of the "building", and it turns out to have some peculiarities. An interesting and surprising aspect of Windows 11 Home is pointed out by Adam (warwagon).

He also tells us how to move forward in the world without an internet connection.

Does not apply to the Pro version
Microsoft wants users to sign in to their Microsoft account when setting up Windows, and they make it difficult to skip the sign-in process.

 

The solution on desktops has been to disconnect the ethernet cable and select the disconnect option. In Windows 11 Home, this option has been removed - but it can of course be added in later versions.

 

The option is still available in the Pro version, where you can choose to sign in or create a Microsoft account even when you are offline, and then proceed with the installation.

The road around
To get around the problem, Adam has a simple solution that is both useful, fun, and surprising:

When Windows 11 Home asks you to connect to a network, the command prompt can simply be closed with the key combination ‘Alt + F4’. It sends you on to local account creation - something that is not offered in the regular process.

 

This bypasses the login screen for the Microsoft account and is a nice little trick for those who want to avoid logging in during the installation process - especially when the operating system is installed on virtual machines.

 

 

Of course, those who choose to sign in to their Microsoft account can go into account settings and switch to a local account after configuring the device, but at the moment there seems to be no other way around the restriction.

Conscious of just unfinished?
It is not clear if the absence of the ability to install the Home version without an Internet connection is accidental, deliberate, or has to do with the leaked version being incomplete.

 

However, in cases where users want to set up the machine without being connected to the network, the shortcut ‘Alt + F4’ so far seems to be the only way to get past the network connection screen.

 

The official presentation of Windows 11 will come on June 24 and it is expected that you will find it in the thrift store sometime in the autumn.
