We thought, like everyone else, that it was an M2 or M1X that would give new power to the new Mac Pro, but now it indicates that there will at least be a new model with Intel, perhaps together with a brand new version with Apple guts.
Mac Pro was last updated just under two years ago
Apple journalist Mark Gurman from Bloomberg confirmed on Twitter that "Apple is working on an update to Intel Mac Pro".
In other words, it's just a gut upgrade of the current model that was last updated in December 2019 (the entry model has Intel Xeon W-3223 - the computer can be delivered with an Intel Xeon W with 24 or 28 cores - it is conceivable that it takes Apple a little longer to design a competitor for this), and not a competitor to the hope of a brand new Mac Pro with Apple entrails.
You may remember that the Mac Pro mini edition, the one that many referred to as an expensive trash can, could not be upgraded to any great extent, and that this is the reason why Apple returned to a more traditional Mac desktop design, this time referred to as a cheese grater with grooves.
