Browser War: Microsoft Raises Edge

Microsoft Edge seems to have a new tool, "ClearType" that will make the text you see on the web page smoother, clearer, and easier to read.

Nicer fonts
ClearType is a Windows technology that improves the readability of text, especially on LCD screens.

 

In the description of the feature, Microsoft writes that it is exclusive to Windows 10, so Edge will probably not look better on other platforms. With the function activated, the contrast and gamma settings can be adjusted in the ClearType Text Tuner.

 

Microsoft hesitates
An Icon for ClearType was added to Microsoft Edge with Canary build 91.0.862.0, but it appears to have been removed with the latest update (91.0.863.0). We do not know if ClearType will appear in the standard version of Edge.
