7200 Mb / s DDR5 RAM chips are on their way from Samsung, but unfortunately they are not aimed at your gaming computer. Not yet.

To pack as many GB, Samsung uses an eight-layer TSV (Through-Silicon are vertical electronic links) structure
It will take some time before several hundred GB of RAM is common, most of us have 16 or 32GB, but it is clear that technological advances like this, and components that will drive servers, drip over to the consumer segment sooner or later.

DDR5-4800 MHz RAM-en ble testet av Samsung på en Intel åtte kjerner Alder Lake skrivebordsmaskin og fant at minnet var opp til 112 prosent kjappere enn DDR4.

The company uses 3D design to pack eight layers of 16GB DRAM on 40 DRAM modules. TSV was first used by Samsung in 2014, then in the form of server modules with a maximum capacity of 256GB.

Samsung's crazy 512GB chips are not ready for sale right yet
The first machines that get the pleasure of being fed with this are super-computers, AI and machine learning machines, and analysis software.

The fact that memory uses around 13 percent less power is very gratifying, especially in large data centers.

Samsung is not quite ready to sell the RAM yet but is testing different variants.
