That's why Apple TV + is doing so poorly

You can probably not count Apple TV + as a success at all yet. According to JustWatch, Apple TV + had only a 3 percent market share in the last quarter of last year in the US and is behind competitors such as Netflix, Disney +, and HBO. Netflix had a market share of 31 percent.

Even the streaming service Peacock, which is probably unknown to most Norwegians, is ahead of Apple TV +.

Why aren't more people using Apple TV +?
Apple's power service was launched in this country last year but has so far not hit hard. According to Aftenposten, the service is perceived as inaccessible.

In addition, the selection is poor and far from large enough to compete with Netflix and HBO. Of all Norwegian households, as many as 71 percent stated that they subscribed to a power service here in Norway last year.

Men are less satisfied with power services than women.

According to EPSI, Norwegians are most satisfied with Viaplay, even though most subscribe to Netflix. Men are significantly less satisfied with power services than women.

The pandemic is one of the reasons for Apple's lousy startup.
According to 9to5mac, Apple TV + has had problems getting enough series on the field during the challenging last year. Making TV during a pandemic is simply challenging and time-consuming. Just taking infection control considerations into account in the make-up room is challenging. And if you can only be five people on set, then it simply does not matter.

Therefore, most of Apple's productions were paused, and as new to the market, they had few pre-produced series and movies to sit back on.

Last week, Apple extended the trial period for subscribers who have already had one year of free trial in the United States. These users can use Apple TV + until July this year.

In Norway, you can try the service for 7 days for free before you have to pay 59 kroner per month. If you buy an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV, you get one year for free.

Apple TV + is also included with Apple One.
