It is now known that the USA will ban WeChat and TikTok from the Apple App Store in the USA next Sunday.

Over and out for TikTok in the US on iPhone and Android, so far
At the same time, the United States reserves the right to reverse the action if it agrees with an American company on an agreement to ensure national security.

Updates and distribution will therefore also be illegal from 20 September. Please note that the ban only applies to the United States and does not affect other countries in any way.

Working towards a final solution - deadline: 12 November
It is still the case that Oracle may take over the data operation of the service (when the administration is satisfied), and that companies that provide services to TikTok can do so until 12 November precisely in order to secure an agreement with Oracle.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had the following to say:
"Our goal is simple: we will protect American information and data from falling into the hands of the Chinese Communist Party" - Pompeo added that they continuously evaluate solutions so that they can achieve security while the app can also be used in the US with Oracle as a partner.
