Microsoft is constantly approaching the big goal of having Windows 10 installed on one billion devices around the world. Today, they can reveal that Windows 10 is enabled on over 900 million devices, relatively shortly after they hit 800 million earlier this year.
The statistics also tell an interesting story in that there have never been more new Windows 10 devices than in the last twelve months. The figure includes traditional computers, laptops, tablets and devices such as HoloLens and Xbox One.
There are good numbers for the Redmond giant, who will end support for Windows 7 in January next year, in a process that naturally leads to a major business transition. They estimate that the magic figure of one billion will pass within six months if the momentum were to be the same in the future.
However, this is a little different from their original goal, which was to raise the billion within the first three years that Windows 10 was available, largely influenced by the idea that Windows Phone would help with this.
