Do you miss the MySpace music? Now they have brought up hundreds of thousands of old songs

And that amounts to only a small percentage.

And that amounts to only a small percentage.

If you've been going through the last few years and overwhelmed that the MySpace songs you once listened to are gone then we have happy news: now as many as 490,000 of these have been saved by The Internet Archive.

Almost one percent of the total
Interestingly, the 490,000 songs represent only a small percentage of the total number, where it is speculated that a total of 50 million songs were uploaded to social media between 2003 and 2014. The songs that now return have in their time been uploaded between 2008 and 2010.

The origins will also be what is referred to as an anonymous, academic group that in its time studied music when MySpace was still active. Coincidentally, in connection with the studies, the group has downloaded over one terabyte of music from the service - this made them available to The Internet Archive when the news said that all the music files had been lost.

Gets faster
The content is now available to anyone where it has taken shape in the traditional MySpace style for nostalgia's sake. The service should not be the fastest at the moment, but the developers say that the playback tool is constantly improving and that it will also be made available in open source if not for a long time.
