Many Apple users woke up on Saturday night with an unusual message to change their password immediately: they had not requested a password change, but were forced to do so.

“Users are reporting that the sudden unexplained Apple ID logout is happening on multiple devices. When they try to log back in, they are locked out of their account and asked to reset their password to regain access,” reports MacRumors and many other trade publications. 9To5Mac observed the same, with a steady increase in reports on social media.
It is always a chore to change the password if you have many devices and two-factor, but it is even worse for users who have activated " Stolen Device Protection ", then you will not be able to reset the password if you are not in a secure place, i.e. where the password was created for the first time.
Also note that users who change their Apple ID password will also have to accept that apps set up via iCloud will also have to have their passwords changed. It has been quiet from Apple this weekend, so what has happened is not good to say.
