Google has a hidden collection of highly-addictive retro games

Retro games were the pinnacle of fun 20 years ago. Does anyone remember, Miniclip Games?

Even before the internet became an everyday use, we found joy playing basic games on the family computer. Games like Microsoft's Solitaire, Pinball, and Minesweeper could keep us entertained for hours.

When mobile phones were on the rise, Snake and Tetris became the must-play handheld games.

No downloading or extra cost was needed as these games came pre-installed.

Now, with many classic game sites shutting down and these games becoming rarer on modern devices, it's becoming harder to just find and play these games. Not to mention the minefield of ads you have to navigate to just enjoy a few minutes of nostalgia.

Well, what if I told you these games were still made available by Google?

We’re talking about the ultimate classics like Pac-Man, Breakout, and Snake.

Do you know that dinosaur jumping game you could play on Google Chrome when your internet died? Yeah, that's on there too.

A friendly warning to the Snake fans out there though, Google's version runs a little differently. Unlike the Nokia 5110 where you could pass through one edge of the screen and reappear on the other, Google's Snake abruptly hits the wall and is left feeling quite dizzy.

Pac-Man retains its charming retro aesthetic and the card-shuffling noises in Solitaire might surprise you.

There's also Ditto which is an audio-based memory game designed to be cute in its sound effects, but can quickly become a bit tedious and annoying - one possibly just meant for children.

Outside the retro stuff, if you want to try something new yet addictive, try Emoji Kitchen.

Keeping up to date with current tech that's used everyday, this game lets you merge emojis to create some weird but quirky combinations.

If you wanted to know what the poop icon looked like whilst puking, a sickly poop emoji is a thing. Or what happens when you combine a smiley face and a wave? Congrats, now you have a drowning emoji.

The fun doesn't stop there when you get to animal hybrids. Play God in creating a rainbow panda or a koala cactus.

Meanwhile, if console games are more your thing, the Alphabet-owned company also has a retro game emulator app on the Play Store for free, letting you relive your cherished memories in Castlevania and Pokémon.

However, make sure to keep these good times away from your work computer.
