Last year, Microsoft launched an up-to-date version of Skype with a brand new interface for mobile and PC, but the overhaul was not exactly welcomed. Now the company announces plans for a new design update.
Was not welcomed
Among the news, last year was the Snapchat Stories-like menu "Highlights", but it is removed in an upcoming update.
"Conversations became harder and Highlights did not fall in taste with the majority of users. We had to take one step back and make it easier, "Skype designs designer Peter Skillman in a blog post.
As you can see on the screens, it's a clean Skype design Microsoft is working on. The main focus is on what is the core functionality of Skype, namely messages, video calls and calls.
Make more changes
In the post, the design manager explains that they focus on the following things for Skype: simplified navigation, making it easier to find contacts and deliver a modern and fresh user interface
"We've looked at how people use Skype apps, we've conducted thorough testing globally and developed prototypes to test new concepts. We listen to your feedback and are committed to improving Skype experience based on what you tell us, "writes Skillman.
