Only one mobile lasts longer than the iPhone 14 Pro Max in a surf test

The iPhone 14 Pro Max has an always-on panel but still keeps it going two hours longer than last year's top model.

Shoots unrestrained
It is Tom's Guide that has carried out the battery measurement, and according to them, gives the mobile full pot due to an incredible 48MP camera, smart Dynamic Island, the best battery life in the class, and an always-on panel.

The action mode, which works like a gimball (stable recording even if the device is not standing still), is also praised as this year's top model. Of the negative comments, we find the lack of a SIM card tray (only in the USA), only 20 w charging, and that it is a bit thicker and heavier.

Not everyone is equally impressed
The Verge gives the mobile 8 out of 10 points and complains that the panel is too bright, that the Dynamic Island has not reached its full potential, and that the images are too sharp in a negative way, i.e. that the software screws up too much.

The technology newspaper believes that it is positive that we all have to say (Editor's note: or write...) "Dynamic Island" all the time, that the performance is top notch, and that "the 48MP camera is capable of producing incredible images."

Keeps going for over 14 hours
The testers report that the phone lasts for 14 hours and 42 minutes in their browser battery test - that's almost 2.5 hours more than the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which manages 12 hours and 16 minutes.

Only the game mobile Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro does better with 15 hours and 30 minutes, but also with a much larger 6000 mAh battery compared to the 14 Pro Max's 4352 mAh.

  • iPhone 14 Pro Max: up to 29 hours

  • iPhone 14 Pro: up to 23 hours

  • iPhone 14 Plus: up to 26 hours

  • iPhone 14: up to 20 hours

Slow charging or wrong charger?
There is a reason why Apple does not talk about fast charging, and unfortunately, Tom's Guide finds that the charging is even slower than what the company has stated should be possible, if they have tested correctly.

They say that the 14 Pro Max took 30 minutes to reach 42 percent - Apple's claim is 50 percent in half an hour.

Manage some 20 hours of surfing by 2025?
There are a total of 15 mobiles on the list where the OnePlus Nord N20 5G does the worst, but it too has over 10 hours with 11 hours and 20 minutes.

It is something to think about how much better all the components have become at saving power, how much better the batteries have become, and at the same time several of today's top models can display information on the screen all the time in combination with high brightness, resolution and large panels at well over 6 inches.
