Apple suddenly had to crisis-update the iPhone and Mac

Apple had to, just before the iPhone revelations tomorrow, urgently update iOS to 14.8, watchOS 7.6.2, iPadOS 14.8, and macOS Big Sur 11.6.

Now you need to update what is, except for the Apple Watch

The reason is that all OSes are subject to attack due to CoreGraphics and WebKit.

 

The former error was discovered by The Citizen Lab in August (NSO Group case) when it was found that the iPhone could be attacked without the victim having to click on anything.

 

The CoreGraphics error means that PDF documents can be modified to start dangerous third-party code. "Apple is aware of a report that this error may have been abused."

 

WebKit is the engine of Safari, so then it is clear that the hackers could create web code which in turn could infect the iPhone and iPad.
