Windows in the cloud comes August 2, this is Windows 365

Windows 10 and Windows 11 will now be streamed, and primarily companies will benefit from this.

Windows 365 launches on August 2, and only for businesses

Windows 365 is streaming the OS in the browser. Thin clients are nothing new, but the new investment where you pay per unit (rumor has it, Microsoft has not detailed the prices yet), and not for how much you use Windows in the cloud, in combination with "instant boot", hopes to do the service is attractive now that people combine office and home office.

"You can continue where you left off, because your Cloud PC is stored as it was, no matter what device you use," explains Microsoft's Wangui McKelvey. This is because it supports Mac, iPad, Linux and Android.

From the Windows 365 start screen, you have access to the most used resources, and an overview of the hardware.

From single core 2GB machine to 32GB RAM and 8 CPs
You can choose between Business or Enterprise packages, and scale down to 1 x CPU, 2GB RAM and 64GB storage, or up to 8 x CPUs, 32GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Microsoft points out that they already know cloud solutions, ie the technical part, and that they therefore really want a good user experience with Windows 365.

As is well known, the service will be launched on 2 August, and only for companies. We will find out more about the pricing next month.

Microsoft believes that their way of doing this saves admins a lot of time: it only takes minutes to boot a new Windows 365 machine.
