Windows 11 can get support for third party widgets

Earlier this week leaked Windows 11 online and we have looked at the upcoming OS update.

The update does not only offer a visual overhaul, we also get a reunion with a function many have missed; The Widgets option.

If you have previously used Windows 7 you are familiar with Widgets. Unfortunately, the Widgets option in the leaked Windows 11 only on news and interests à leave what was launched for Windows 10 former in the year.

In the first place first-party widgets
However, the reliable Microsoft Inside Walking Cat claims that Microsoft is planning to support third-party widgets and allow users to customize the widgets menu as desired. Initially, however, Windows 11 will only support the first-party widgets. Support for third-party widgets comes later.

In the next third party widgets
This is confirmed by Rafael Rivera who did not find APIs related to third-party widgets in the leaked Windows 11, indicating that the first Windows 11 update does not come with support for third-party widgets.

Microsoft is expected to announce Windows 11 in the next week. But thanks to the recent leak, we have a notion of what we have in store.
