Microsoft has a piece of news for upcoming Windows 10 versions (it can be found in dev version 21376): an updated font in the form of Segoe UI Variable, an improvement from today's Segoe UI which does not look as good as the new one in various screen sizes, especially large ones.
This is how it looks:
A number of icons already redesigned
Windows 10 pre-testers report that a number of icons have been redesigned for the first time since the age of Windows 95.
In addition to new icons for Explorer folders and system apps, Microsoft offers refreshed icons such as hibernation and floppy disk.
In the preview, there is a set of new icons for folders/options/buttons inside Shell32.DLL, the module that has existed in all variants of the operating system released after Windows 95. In the next feature update, some of these icons will get a makeover.
As you can see above, Sun Valley has refreshed several icons with new colors from the October 2020 update, including hibernation, globe, network, floppy disks, etc.
Colorful and fluid look
Many apps, folders, and settings have also been given more colorful and fluid icons. The icons for frequently used folders such as "This PC", Recycle Bin, Documents, etc. have also been changed.
There is a lot left to change and it is likely that the vast majority of icons in the operating system will be updated before the launch of Sun Valley.
The Sun Valley update of Windows 10 is expected in October or November.
