Micron Technology is ready with the next generation 3D NAND which has as many as 176 layers, an increase from 96

Gets more than 33 percent faster on reading and writing
This makes it possible to not only store more space on smaller pieces but at the same time push down the price as the production process is simplified.

Apparently, the chip is better than Kioxia and Western Digital's BiCC5, not only because of the name but also because they have fewer layers.

Samsung and SK Hynix also have plans for 176 layers of SSD technology
The new technology will also be used in mobile phones, IoT devices, and in the server market.

Crucial will be the first to deliver 176 layers of SSDs next year.
