Spotify will probably refuse users to easily transfer the music library from Spotify to competing services such as Apple Music.
Apple does not have the same barrier Developers who allow users to use Spotify's developer framework to make this possible will have their certificate blocked, it is now announced. It is SongShift, the developers of just such a service, who now announce that SongShift 5.1.2 can no longer transfer from Spotify to another service.
"We understand this is a disappointment for many of you and we wish we did not have to do this," the developers report.
Spotify allows developers to offer transfer to Spotify, but not the other way around. The company's terms of service also reflect that this is not the law.
