The new version of Windows 10 is more or less finished

Launched next month, is in the final test period.

Windows 10 20H2, also known as the October update, is now in the final round of testing.

Better Start menu and Edge are built into the Windows 10 October update
This is in the form of version 19042.508 (update KB4571756) which has been rolled out to the safest test channel, «Release Preview«.

There are no dramatic changes in the update, but there is something:

  • A nicer start menu that looks better regardless of theme
  • Improve alert system
  • Edge browser pre-installed
  • Alt + tab shows Edge web pages
  • More moves to the modern control panel, including disk management

Note this if you are using WSL
There is a major flaw with the Windows Subsystem for Linux, namely that users encounter the "item not found" error message at startup. Microsoft says they have found out about the bug and that an update is coming soon. If access is needed immediately, KB4571756 can be deleted.
