Apple needs to do something very soon.
Facebook has launched the Facebook Gaming app for iOS. No games.
Apple denied Facebook's mini-games
Because as everyone has agreed, Apple does not accept services where not all games are manually approved by them, an impossibility for companies that provide the service, but not the games, but also for Microsoft and Valve, it seems.
Now it's Facebook's turn to complain, for they launched the Gaming app for iPhone today, while Microsoft debuts with the final version of Project xCloud on September 15, including in Norway.
This is what Facebook says
"Unfortunately, we had to remove the games to get Apple's approval for the standalone Facebook Gaming app - which means that iOS users have a worse experience than those using Android. We focus on building communities for more than 380 million people who play games on Facebook every month - whether Apple allows it in a standalone app or not, "says Facebook's Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg.
It's probably smartly purely strategic for Facebook to launch the app now that Microsoft is already complaining and the search results are aimed at the Apple App Store's potential monopoly business.
