NFC has approved charging small things on mobiles using just NFC technology and not the Qi charging system that Samsung uses on the back to provide wireless charging capability.
WLC will be important in the years to come
WLC ("Wireless Charging Specification") is, therefore, something you will hear a lot about in the future, and maybe the reason Apple dropped wireless charging from its own 11-series iPhone models - they are on the NFC board and may have implemented WLC on iPhone 12? If not, it will be enough next year.
