Sonos removes the Recycle Mode requirement

Sonos has decided to get rid of "Recycle Mode". This is stated in a press release.

"Recycle Mode" was part of the Sonos exchange program, which allows a 30 percent discount on newer Sonos products.

But to qualify for this discount, customers had to accept that their older products were put into "Recycle Mode" - a mode that after 21 days made the products unusable.

Get a discount anyway
This is no longer the case because now you can get the same discount and still use your older devices as before.

- We have updated the Trade Up program by removing the Recycle Mode requirement. Trade Up was created as an opportunity for customers to upgrade their old Sonos products to get the latest experience. Customers will still receive a 30% discount on new Sonos products, but they can now choose what they want to do with their old product: continue to use it, give it to a friend, donate it to a good cause, recycle it in a responsible manner at a local e-recycling station or return it to Sonos via a prepaid shipping label.
