US authorities have decided to allow US companies to do business with Huawei a little longer. Just as Reuters reported yesterday.
Extends the deadline
Initially, the temporary trade permit expired today, but now Trump and the rest of the administration have ruled that the deadline will be extended by another 90 days.
This gives American technology companies a little more time to end their collaboration with Huawei.
"While we do what we can to get customers away from Huawei's products, we recognize that more time is needed to prevent things from coming to a halt," US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross said in a statement on Monday.
Several Huawei companies banned
There has been a lot of back and forth in this matter. Such status is now little indicative of Huawei being removed from the blacklist, ie the list of companies that US companies are not allowed to trade.
The Ministry of Commerce has also added 46 Huawei affiliates to the blacklist.
