Apple really doesn't want you to change the battery of a third party

A scary message pops up in recent iOS.

It's no secret that Apple doesn't like it when you change your iPhone battery yourself or with a third party. The latest software detects if you have installed a battery that lacks an official authentication key.

A scary message pops up
Accordingly, you will receive a notification of battery health.

The change was first discovered by iFixit, which reports that it is applicable to users with iPhone XR, XS and XS Max. The software in question is iOS 12 and iOS 13 beta. By visiting the battery page under the settings on your phone you will encounter the following message if you have made a battery change with an unauthorized dealer:

Important battery message
Unable to verify the original battery in this iPhone
Battery health information is not available

The message above usually pops up when the original battery has a problem that needs replacing, Engadget writes. Now, this is no longer the case, and the message may show up even if you have a fully functioning battery - and interestingly enough, even though it is an original battery from Apple itself. iFixit describes it as pretty sure that it is not a mistake, but that the company has deliberately done it this way.
