If for some reason you're still on an older Windows version, it might be good news that you can finally try out Microsoft's new Microsoft Edge, the Chromium-based browser for Microsoft. Of older Windows editions currently supported are Windows 7, 8, and 8.1.

Available almost everywhere
This means that the new browser is available on all platforms that were originally planned, including Windows 10 and MacOS.

Microsoft writes in a blog post that they are happy to offer trial versions of the so-called Canary channel on new platforms and that developers and users of all major platforms can now try out the next version of Microsoft Edge for themselves. It is also emphasized that users will find "basically the same experience and set of features" as in Windows 10.
