Google has its own SOS alerts sent out when various forms of crisis arise, such as terrorist attacks or natural disasters.

But now the function will be more useful. Google should show you more visual information about the dangers you are potentially facing.

In addition, Google introduces a new navigation feature in Maps. This is activated if a natural crisis occurs and aims to guide the user out of the exposed area.

Says when the hurricane hits
For example, when it comes to hurricanes, Google will send out a notice saying something about the direction the hurricane is likely to take, and when it is expected to hit certain places.

If an earthquake has occurred, you will get a map showing the epicenter and strength of the quake. Color codes make a distinction between the intensity of shaking in nearby areas.

The case continues under the picture.

Google also implements flood warning in its notification system. The function is initially tested in the town of Patna in India, a city that is very flood-prone. The warning tells the user where the flood is expected to hit and how serious it is.

Everyone can get the information - not just the ones they hit
While these alerts may be helpful to people who are in close proximity to the potential danger, it may also be beneficial for relatives to receive information.

Therefore, it is quite possible to access the alerts - all you have to do is search for the vulnerable area on Google.

The new visualization features come to iOS and Anderoid over the coming weeks, except for the flood feature, which is initially tested in India. The navigation feature comes to mobile platforms during the summer.
