How to become "Project Limitless".
During Computex 2019, which takes place in Taiwan this week, Qualcomm and Lenovo have announced the world's first 5G laptop.
The companies revealed that they were working on this machine already during the CES Las Vegas fair in January.
Snapdragon X55 5G modem
The machine, named "Project Limitless" is built on the Snapdragon's 7nm 8cx processor and, according to Lenovo, will offer "ultra-low delay, incredible performance, and battery, as well as 5G connectivity that will revolutionize the way we work and play."
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8cx compute platform consists of an Adreno 680 GPU, a Hexagon 690 DSP, a Kryo 495 CPU and the Snapdragon X55 5G modem. The machine naturally has wi-fi support as well.
Coming in 2020
Lenovo has not yet revealed price or availability, but Lenovo promises "Project Limitless" to the store shelves in early 2020. The machine will probably be the first laptop with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X55 5G modem.
Anandtech has seen a prototype like a hinter that the machine gets a 13 el panel with full HD resolution.
According to Lenovo, the machine is available with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of SSD storage.
