While 3D Touch disappears from this year's new phones.

Analyst Blayne Curtis in the British bank Barclays has been in Asia and met partners in Apple's supply chain.

It has given him some indications of what we can expect from next year's iPhone models. He has shared the information with Macrumors.

New technology for fingerprints
Next year's iPhone models will probably get 5G support as well as a new "acoustic" fingerprint technology that allows the entire screen to act as a finger sensor. In addition, Curtis claims that the back camera of the phone gets 3D-tracking technology.

  • Furthermore, he talks about this year's new iPhone models. As previously reported, they will have few design changes, apart from a square camera system on the back.

  • 3D Touch is eliminated in all 2019 models

  • Next-generation iPhone XR gets 4GB of RAM

  • Some suppliers should have mentioned that an iPhone SE2 with iPhone 8 hardware comes in 2020. However, other suppliers should not have had knowledge of such a phone.

  • LG becomes a secondary supplier of OLED monitors for the 2019 models. Samsung is the other party to produce the screens.
