New Edge may support Internet Explorer pages

A backward compatibility feature.

A backward compatibility feature.

From a leak in an early release of the new Chromium-based Edge browser to Microsoft, it emerges that the browser may have both what is called Chromium Blink and an entire toolkit to display Internet Explorer sites. The purpose is backward compatibility, and the intention is to be able to display older websites that were initially designed for Internet Explorer.

Support for two engines
It is the Twitter user WalkingCat who reports the leak in a message telling him that Microsoft Edge seems to have a structure with support for two engines that open up to having an Internet Explorer session while using Chromium Blink. The engine of what you would otherwise have used it as normal.

Apparently, it works by activating the setting in advance, and then right-clicking in a website and pressing "Host in IE tab" - as shown below:

Currently, the feature appears to be a placeholder in the Insider program, because according to those who have had access to the button, the function does not work as intended.
